DSKslots Posted July 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2014 (edited) Hi there, I will be going on my first cruise come September. We will be starting in Barcelona, heading to Rome and the Napals and back. Being from the UK, I have never actually been to a Casino before as the ones here tend to be dated so have a few questions. How do you play the slots, do you have to take cash with you, or is it done on a key card type system? What currency will they be using? How new are the slots they have? I am a big fan of WMS games, I saw one video that showed they have Ruby Slippers, but any others? I love the Wonka slots and would really like to have a go on one, as well as zeus, black knight, goldfish, monopoly etc. If I win big is it taxed like in the US? And lastly, does anyone know what sort of percentages they run on? Thanks :) Edited July 18, 2014 by DSKslots

As there is no tax on casino winnings in the UK you will probably be allowed to keep the whole amount, or given appropriate paperwork to claim the tax back from the US IRS. Apparently the ship may carry a few copies of the 'waiver certificates' so us brits can get our hands on the lovely cash. ps -next year I am cruising on Princess and confident of getting a royal flush at carribbean stud with linked jackpot. $100,000 dollars would be nice :D:D
cb at sea Posted July 18, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2014 Use cash....if you take cash from your onboard account, it will cost you 5%...that's already a "loss"...so use cash! It will be US Dollars. Don't worry about your "big win"....that's very unlikely to happen! Cruise ship slots are much tighter than land-based casinos...and the payout percentage is low.
