World Cup televised on RCI??

Does any one know if the Ships will televised the World Cup? I am on the Explorer during semi finals and I am in total panic mode...... Anyone knows??:eek::eek:

If that's soccer, yes...they are REALLY big on soccer! If it's something else (yeah, not a big sports fan!), then record it at home....it's hit or miss on other sports! Of course, it will have to be on a channel that they get!

It could be affected by where you are sailing. In some parts of the world, games will be late at night or early in the morning.

Yes, it is soccer and we are sailing to the Caribbean... It should not be that much time difference from Brazil!!

I would think they would carry the later rounds if the price is not outrageous and a satellite carrying it is available.

We were on Independence during the 2010 world cup, sailing in the Med.

Some matches were shown throughout the ship.

Popular matches were shown in the Pyramid Lounge.

Assume if possible this would also be true in 2014.

I hope NOT. The thought of people going around chanting "en-guh-lun" and trying to sing "you'll never walk alone' makes me judder. Its not as if the world cup is a surprise event. These fans have had 4 years in which to book their holidays. Why inflict their support for "en-guh-lun" on others.

This explains a lack of interest in the World Cup.

Their last and only appearance was in 1958.

But If Wales ever do qualify again I will be hoping they do well.

You may want to check into the streaming options. The games will probably be available over the internet. This could be a possibility if you can't see the game on the ship's equipment.
