Century Plaza YVR pre-cruise

Has anyone stayed at this hotel? and can you give me any advice, pro or con.

I've gotten a great rate for the Saturday nite before our cruise departs.

Hey, I live about 2 hours south of you for 5 to 5 1/2 months a year and often come up to shop in Henderson and do a little unwise investing in LV.

I have never stayed in the Century Plaza, as I am a native Vancouverite, however I can tell you that locationally it is just fine. It would be just s/w of the business core as it transisitions in the dense (highrise) residential neighbourhood known as the West End. Burrard Street is a significant n/s traffic artery and you are very close to St. Paul's hospital so it will be a bit noisy but that is true of any downtown Vancouver hotel. There will likely be a few panhandlers around but there are no crime threats in the area. There are also lots of eateries around catering to the West End residents. So yes, I'd go for it.

We love our snowbirds, Putter. :cool: Thanks for the help. I got a really good rate because the 'high season' doesn't actually start until after May 1. Much better than the rates at the locations near the pier.

Very cool. When do you depart Princess?? I'll be happy to give you an update when I return, unless we're on the same trip. lol. I'm on the Star departing YVR 27April.

We go on May 7 on the Ryndam. This is my 4th trip to Alaska, I love, love, love it :) I hope you have a fabulous time!

The difference in price between the Plaza and the hotels on the waterfront will more than cover the cost of a short taxi ride!
