Buffet Menu

I've been reading up just to get me through the next few months until we cruise again. While we've never been big fans of the buffet, I've noticed that people have been posting great looking pictures and talking about "themed nights" - seafood, Tex-mex, etc. in the buffet. Is this typical on all ships, or only the larger ones? We are on the Jewel, Vancouver to Honolulu in October. TIA.

Fairly typical on both small and large boats.

On the Jewel they typically do outdoor deck themes a few times (just outside the indoor buffet area) about every 2-3 days. The indoor themes are more subtle than some of the other cruise-lines. If you don't like the buffets, there's free restaurants.

Thanks for the info. We are veteran NCL cruisers and will be dining in Specialty restaurants 6 out of the 10 nights we are on the ship (2 for our Platinum Status, 4 for Dining Plan). Just trying to explore the options for our other meals onboard.

I'd have to double check for all the nights but on the Gem recently they had "American" night and "Western" night.

There are theme nights in the buffet on all ships. But also look at the special of the night in O'Shehans (seafood basket, prime rib, BBQ ribs, etc).

Platinum Meals
