Rental car question

We are looking to get a rental car for the day of the cruise and were wondering if there was a rental car company that was inside the port so we wouldn't have to drop our car off and then get a shuttle to port Everglades

We are getting into Fort Lauderdale so late it's really not worth it to us to get a hotel so we are planning on renting a car and taking a long ish nap in the car and then driving around before heading to the cruise port.

Any recommendations on the rental car company that would best suit our needs is welcome!

There are no rental car facilities inside the port area - there are some located just outside of the port that will shuttle you to your ship, as will some located at the FLL airport.

We use Thrifty or Dollar right outside the Port Everglades gate...they are the closest.

We are in the same boat....kinda...are you guys sure thrifty has a shuttle bus that will take us from MIA to the POM? And do they charge for it?

The above discussion was about Port Everglades, but yes - National, Alamo and Thrifty have a free shuttle from POM to their MIA airport location.
