Royal/Regal balconies are smaller than on other Princess ships. Look at midship cabins below the Seaview Bar (portside) and seawalk (starboard).

They are larger bacause they extend out at an angle. The midship cabin prices are a little higher tho.

most balconies I have sailed were on Caribe deck which have bigger balconies.

I would look on the princess boards to see what balcony gets the best bang for you buck

also look into what to avoid. On my sailings (crown, ruby and Caribbean)

there is a deck that is completly uncovered --open to everything above

Yes, the balconies on the Dophin deck are completely uncovered. We had a mini-suite on the Dolphin deck on the Star Princess. We went on an Alaskan cruise round trip from Seattle. It didn't bother us to be on an uncovered balcony.
