August 10 sailing. Propulsion problem. We had to turn back to BB yesterday. We will be in Bora Bora for at least a Day 4 while some one or something arrives from France for repair. Stranded in paradise. And loving it!

There are definitely worse places to be stranded than Bora Bora as you say! Hope you have fun and the issue is resolved soon as we will also be aboard in less than two weeks!

The captain announced at least 5 days in Bora Bora, 3 more than planned. We have missed the Tuamotus, which is disappointing. But the crew are awesome, as ever, the food is tasty and the scenery is gorgeous, albeit still the same. Weather has been perfect. More dives have been scheduled and even with a bank holiday today, tour operators have gotten guides to come to work to keep us busy having fun. We have power, running water, and the laundry package. Still plenty of wine and spirits, too! Still, we will be glad to get moving again, hopefully Tuesday evening. Then Motu Mahana on Wednesday. Really hope we don't miss that, too!

Ia Orana,

The technical issue has been resolved and the m/s Paul Gauguin sailed from Bora Bora yesterday afternoon and arrived Motu Mahana (off the coast of Taha’a), Paul Gauguin Cruises’ private island, this morning as scheduled. The ship had encountered a technical issue due to electronic cards related to propulsion in Bora Bora. A service engineer from France joined the ship yesterday and resolved the issue. During its time in Bora Bora, the ship operated normally, providing all dining, services, activities, and entertainment as usual. The ship ran tender service to and from Vaitape as well as to the line’s private beach in Bora Bora so guests could enjoy the island. Paul Gauguin Cruises also offered a complimentary shore excursion per guest in Bora Bora.

The rest of the itinerary remains as originally scheduled with the ship sailing at 5:00 p.m. today to Moorea to arrive Thursday morning. The Gauguin will then overnight in Moorea and depart Friday at 5:00 p.m. for a 7:30 p.m. arrival into Papeete, Tahiti, on August 19, 2016, and the cruise concludes on August 20, 2016. As compensation, Paul Gauguin Cruises will provide guests a refund of 30% of the cruise fare paid and a $1,000 Future Cruise Credit per person for the two missed Tuamotus ports.

Kind Regards,

Paul Gauguin Cruises

We've been thinking about this cruise for quite some time. Been reading all the info on the board and we were very impressed with all the insight and suggestions from the posters. After following this thread and reading PG response, we are definitely scheduling a cruise on PG. What a class act!

Our cruise will be in 2018. Can't wait
