You can get bus/ferry passes and maps right at the pier.

Sunday is a good day for the beach, weather permitting. Not too many stores or businesses will be open on Sunday. We generally do our exploring on Monday and Tuesday morning. On Tuesday afternoon, we stay close to the ship to be onboard for sailaway.

The Bermuda Trip Advisor site has plenty of information about activities, beaches, shopping etc. Bermuda has such a good public transportation system, that it's easy to get about on your own.

We rented a Boston Whaler last July from Somerset Water Sports. They have a website with a phone number on it. You may be too late to get the boat though since they are usually reserved far in advance. There is another rental place in Bermuda. I think it is H2O Watersports. You could try them to see if they have anything available if Somerset is already booked. It was a fun four hours that we had the whaler. Great thing to do in Bermuda.
