Royal Suite on Voyager Class

Recommended Posts

Has anyone stayed in the Royal Suite on any Voyager class ship? Been in an owners suite on one and have just recently booked the royal suite for a 23 night transpacifc on explorer in 2018. Just curious of the extra perks etc.

thanks

I had the Royal Suite on the Navigator of the Seas last month. You get alot of plates delivered to your cabin daily (more than the OS). The space is great. There was only two of us staying in the cabin. There is a hugh closet behind the bed. Having two bathrooms with showers helps when getting ready. Seperate bedroom is nice.

Having a bar and a piano is great for parties. We had a cocktail hour with bartender in the Royal suite for about 20 people.

You wouldn't happen to have any more photos of this suite would you? We have it booked and haven't found any photos since her refurbishment. Thanks!

Hi,

We have cruised in the Royal Suite on the Navigator and a number of other classes of ship. Personally we think that the Voyager class Royal Suites are the best, and we have also booked the same cruise as you on the Explorer.

At check-in, they will ask you to wait for the Concierge, he or she should appear and escort you onto the ship. The Royal Suite is usually ready well before the other cabins so even if you arrive early, you should still be taken straight to the cabin.

There should be a bottle of champagne waiting for you and you can settle in for your cruise.

It would have been nice if the cruise card said "ROYAL SUITE" in big letters, but alas it doesn't. Outside your cabin, you are treated more or less the same as other suite guests, although on the first night onboard the Navigator, my husband went to the Concierge lounge to have a pre-dinner drink whilst I got ready and the room was packed with no seats available. Instantly the Concierge, Ricardo, sent a bottle of wine to the Suite and did so every night for the rest of the cruise.

We held a party in the suite on one of the latter sea days (had invites printed before we traveled) and during the cruise, carefully selected our guests. We held the party at 2.30 in the afternoon, so by 5pm everyone drifted off to get ready for dinner. The Concierge was excellent and sent up not only a table full of canapes, enough booze to keep everyone happy, but he also sent us a barman. Other than some palm greasing, we didn't have to pay the ship for anything but that is totally at the discretion of the Concierge, although if he wont play ball as one Concierge did, we had a quiet word with the Hotel Director, although this was on the Jewel some months later.

We have really enjoyed the Royal Suites that we have stayed in and I am sure you will have am amazing cruise and we look forward to seeing you onboard.

All the best

Sounds great! Especially the in-suite barman! So it really depends on the concierge to the level of service you get etc?

Not trying to hijack the thread but is there a chance we will be escorted on or allowed in room early in the Royal Family Suite?

I doubt it, didn't happen for us on a different ship.

this floor plan seems to be completely different to that on voyager and explorer? must have changed the design after the first couple of ships.

awesome photos never-the-less.

Maybe because the Navigator of the Seas is a second generation ship of Voyager-class.

We had the Royal Suite on the Explorer when it left NJ to go to Cape Canaveral. It was a 14 day cruise. The cabin was nice but we didn't get any special treatment from the concierge except that he escorted us onto the ship. After that we never heard from him.Our cabin was not ready when we boarded and we had to wait in lounge. I don't expect to be catered to but when you book that cabin you would expect a little extra treatment. We had our dinner mates in our room for dinner and had to set it up with dining room. No help at all from the concierge. I was extremely disappointed. Also had issues with brown water in jacuzzis. I hope they have ironed out all the problems .

Hope your experience is better than ours

It must, because we were beyond disappointed with the concierge when we had the RS on the Mariner. There was a series of bad information given to us in writing by the concierge. There was a bottle of Champagne, that was it. Four of the seven nights they left a small plate of canapés. Mini fridge was never refilled. Very poor showing all around. As someone else mentioned, step outside your space and you are just another salmon trying to swim upstream on the ship.

Hi Derek and Amanda, I remember when Amanda was our 'social hostess' when we had the Royal Suite on Indy a few years ago! Hope you're both well.

Hi Guys, dont forget the guy who handled the security, which included removing the 80 year old back to her cabin!

Great to hear from you, hopefully see you on the Indy soon.

Regards

Derek
