:) Are there any car rental places close to the cruise terminall in Fort Lauderdale

Just a little reading will find many threads on the topic. There are no rental sites within the Port. There are some sprinkled around the immediate perimeter. Hertz (the one we most recently used) is outside the 24th Street gate. Another is just outside the 17th Street gate.

All of them are at airport, you'll be able to catch a shuttle if you already have reservations.

No, not all of them have a shuttle. I have listed here before but always seem to be corrected by one of the locals so I will wait for him to come along and confirm this. ;):D
