Walking Around/Getting to the Beach

We are going on a Sunset Cat. Tour and leaving at 4 for that. However, our ship gets in at 1. We are looking to go to a beach, or just do some shopping maybe at a market, or some shops for just a couple hours before leaving for our sunset tour. Can anyone give me a beach that is close by (walking distance or using a taxi with the cost) or directions to a market/shopping area that is near by the cruise port? Thanks for any information/help!

There are no beaches within walking distance of the ship, unfortunately. Going to a beach prior to your 4 o'clock tour is really not recommended -- by the time you get to the beach, it's time to turn around and get back to the tour pick up spot.

When you exit the pier area - Riffort Village - you will immediately see downtown on your left. Just cross the pontoon bridge and you'll be in the middle of the shopping area. 10 minutes walk tops.

Will do! I think we have decided to stay on the ship after docked, get a massage and then head to do some shopping around the port/check out the island and the. Meet up with our tour excursion at 4! Should be a fun day :)

Had a great time on the catamaran sail! The guys that ran it were friendly and worked hard. They didn't say a lot about the island but did offer some information on the home prices, etc. The sunset sail was beautiful and had a nice time shopping & grabbing a drink near the port.
