Jet Boat excursions in New Zealand on Princess ?

We are planning a Dec 2015 sailing on the Diamond Princess to New Zealand . Looking for recommendations for which ports of call have the best jet boat rides ?

The best jet boat rides are on the rivers in NZ. If your cruise has the High Country excursion from Akaroa then this may be the only option for river jet boating.

However if you are happy with harbour jet boating then the Bay of Islands has the Excitor, and Auckland has one that's based at the Viaduct Basin, very close to where the ships dock.

The jetboating in Auckland departs from very close to where the ship docks. We asked the operators about booking a ride after lunch but our ship (Voyager) had booked out the jetboat for the entire day.

In that case it might be worth booking it as an Princess excursion, if they offer it in Auckland. They do have it in the list of excursions.

In the Bay of Islands do try to do a trip to the Hole in the Rock. If the weather is OK even the big catamarans go though the hole, it's quite an experience.
