H2O babe Posted July 12, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2005 Am trying to decide what deck to book on the Island Princess. Have cabins picked out on Emerald Deck and Baja Deck. I have read that Baja deck balconies are not covered and am concerned that I may miss the privacy that I'm used to. I do enjoy being higher in the ship but would like your opinions please. Thanks. Colo Cruiser Posted July 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2005 We stayed in Baja 304 and 306 and they are covered. Good location (stairs) and quiet. "Coral and Island Princess balcony info. Momj47 Posted July 12, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2005 All the balconies are covered on the Island Princess. The Lido deck comes out quite far, so the balconies that aren't covered by the deck above are covered by the Lido Deck. Enjoy

Another poster said it is partially covered. Your comment above indicates that A-429 is uncovered. I now have three versions of my booked cabin. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what we get when we board the Island next year. :)
H2O babe Posted July 12, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted July 12, 2005 Thanks for the info. It appears I'm going to be booking B506. I haven't been able to find any good photos of the deck coverage, even on the Princess web site.
johnmik1 Posted July 12, 2005 #6 Share Posted July 12, 2005 All the balconies are covered on the Island Princess. The Lido deck comes out quite far, so the balconies that aren't covered by the deck above are covered by the Lido Deck. Enjoy I believe you are referring to Sun Class ships.I have sailed the Island four times and have had uncovered balconies on both Caribe & Dolphin decks. There are also some uncovered balconies on Aloha and Baja in the rear of the ship. H2O babe Posted July 13, 2005 Author #8 Share Posted July 13, 2005 Colo Cruiser--looks like you've been on the Island Princess. Would you happen to know about whether cabin B506 has a covered balcony? Thanks.
Amy1118 Posted July 13, 2005 #9 Share Posted July 13, 2005 I did a search on balconies and found the following info: "Coral and Island Princess balcony info. From Princess Cruise Line. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A209-310,A416-504,A624-722 uncovered A311-425 and A506-623 covered B205-217; B701-737 uncovered B218-309; B416-633 partially covered B311-427; B622-645 covered C205-231; C705-726 covered C232-703 partially covered C727-728 uncovered D206-309; D418-502; D624-724 covered D311-417; D503-623; D725-726 uncovered E207-310; 624-737 covered" I was in C328 on the Island, which was partially covered and thought it was perfect for Alaska. It was twice the size of the totally covered and totally uncovered.
