Carnival Pride

We are on the Pride in 2 weeks and I got this letter from my TA that the ship doesn't come into port til 10 am and departs at 5pm. I usually leave New Jersey for a 2 hour ride at 8 am and get to the port at 10 am.

1. Will the port be open at 10 am , do they still line you up outside the parking lot ?

2. What time will the terminal open ?

3. what time do they actually start letting you on the ship ?

We have FTTF

thanks

Bob

Yes the port will be open at 10am - with FTTF you won't have to wait as you have your own priority line at the port so as soon as they open you can go in.

I believe 9am the port opens but really you don't need to be there before 10am with FTTF.

The ship usually starts boarding between 12-1pm.

With FTTF it's an easy process - If you see a large line when you arrive just make sure to double check at the start for FTTF/Priority, sometimes people miss this and are left waiting in the line when they don't have to.

I don't think we've ever waited more than 20 minutes from the time our shuttle drops us off.

We just got off the Pride and basically messed up embarkation and debarkation the whole cruise, so take this info with a grain of salt. Others please feel free to correct me.

I'm not sure how we did this but we didn't realize we had priority and faster to the fun until the night before so our plans were based on arriving at our 2:30 check-in. We were able to get the troops rallied enough to arrive in the parking lot by 12:15 and were on the ship drinking coldies by around 1. Longest part of the process was waiting in line to drop our bags off with the porters before parking. Maybe you'd miss some of that if you arrived earlier but it wouldn't be worth losing an hour of sleep in order to sit and wait to board in my opinion.

I believe they started letting people off the ship around 9:00 but I could be wrong on that, we had originally thought they kicked us out of the rooms/boat at 10:00 so we were not ready at 9:00 when our excellent cabin steward came by to check to see if we'd left.

They were letting people into the parking lot and ubers/taxis/shuttles were dropping people off when we were pulling out at around 10:00.

I'd suggest not arriving more than 20-30 minutes before your arrival time. The security people were pretty good and check-in people were excellent and moved us through pretty quickly. No sense in trying to hurry up and wait.

We're on the Carnival Pride July 16 (can't wait). This is our first time out of Baltimore. Just curious if you can tell me how the luggage drop off works there. Our check in time is 1:30-2:00 and we don't have FTTF. Do you drop checked luggage at terminal before you park? Also, how far from the parking lot is the ship? Thanks for any help!

I'm from Jersey too, just came back from Pride yesterday. 2 years ago we arrived at 10am, in fact so have others up until February? So basically, it's an hour later, 10 turns into 11 (if you have FTTF or other priority).

We Arrived at terminal at 11:30 last week. Going by the lineup to park (maybe 5 in front) and the amount in the lot, 11-11:15 they started letting people park. We were on the ship by about 12:15 with FTTF. We were off the ship and in the car by 9:30 yesterday.

Your best bet is keep an eye on things Saturday night & Sunday morning for any delays on it's arrival. It all goes well, attempt an 11:00 if you have priority or fttf. If not go with your time allotment.

FTTF self luggage was to be meet at the Red Frog on deck 2 at 900 for 915 escort out. We were struggling for the elevators on 8 at 845. By the time we finally got down there, they were walking them out at 9am. I'm hearing there was alot of confusion for some reason unknown to me. I was just thankful I wasn't affected.

Yes luggage drop off occurs after you enter the lot area - the porters will take your luggage and get it from your trunk. Usually a couple bucks just insures it doesn't get smashed along the way. In the photo below you can see the white trains with all the carts. There are 2 pending on the drop-off or self park area.

You can see on this photo below the map of the parking - Very easy and no walk at all to the ship. 2 sides for Carnival/Royal - we have done shuttle the last 3-4 times out of Baltimore so I forget which side is Carnival parking.

1. Will the port be open at 10 am , do they still line you up outside the parking lot ? The parking lot will only be open to drop off passengers they will open the lot to parking passenger somewhere between 11 and noon.

2. What time will the terminal open ? The terminal will be open for drop off passengers and the passengers that fly into Baltimore.

3. what time do they actually start letting you on the ship ? Between noon and 1pm.

We have been on the Pride 6 times and my responses are based on our cruises. We drive from NE PA have have been turned away from the parking lot entrance until a large number of past passengers leave the lot. Carnival lot is to the left of the building if you are viewing from the highway. Also, there is a cash or credit option for paying for parking. Most use credit so the lines are long. The cash line has never been longer than two cars when we arrived. I think the fee is still $105.

Enjoy you cruise.
