Lovefuninthesun Posted August 24, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2017 Loved the review. We are doing the 4 day to Havana only (no KW) in May -- very much looking forward to it! Haven't had to change currencies since a trip to France 15 years ago, so a little anxious about that.
CruiseGal999 Posted August 24, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 24, 2017 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2493583 This is a VERY detailed and step by step review of the first NCL cruise to Cuba on May 1, 2017. It can answer many questions people have. I don't know about how things will change with Trump's announcement, but from reading posts on CC, it 'seems' like the cruise lines are going to be able to do business as usual. And it 'seems' like Trump's speech was FOR the Cuban people to directly benefit monetarily, and LESS to the government.
coevan Posted August 25, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 25, 2017 do they have ATMs in Cuba? they are the best way to change currency. We did it in Europe and got the best exchange rates.
Queen Yellow Posted August 29, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 29, 2017 I have heard you have to pay $25 when leaving Cuba. Is this typically in the cruise price or something we need to pay with CUCs when we leave Cuba?

Is this typically in the cruise price or something we need to pay with CUCs when we leave Cuba? I was in Cuba in May, there were no fees to leave Cuba. The only fee was $75.00 for your Visa. hannibal54 Posted August 29, 2017 #11 Share Posted August 29, 2017 Loved the review. We are doing the 4 day to Havana only (no KW) in May -- very much looking forward to it! Haven't had to change currencies since a trip to France 15 years ago, so a little anxious about that. After you go through the Cuban security there is an exchange right by, it was very easy and fast to change your money. You won't need to worry about this part of your trip.
