esimon Posted January 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2016 I am wondering if there are bicycle rentals or tours on the various new england tours
SailBadtheSinner Posted January 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2016 I can answer for Bar Harbor. Yes, bikes are available for rental. In fact, a service offered by the Island Explorer (free bus service) is a bus with a bike trailer that takes the bike and rider, to and return from, the Acadia National Park carriage road entrance at Eagle Lake. toras Posted February 5, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 5, 2016 The bus won't be running in late May when we will be there. Is it possible to bike from the rental shop all the way to the Park?

Is it possible to bike from the rental shop all the way to the Park? It is a little less than 2 miles to the park entrance on Eagle Lake Rd from a bike rental shop on Cottage St. Once in the park, it becomes what you want to do. Bike to the top of Cadillac Mountain, do the Park Loop Road, or find a Carriage Road entrance. It is about 3 miles from the bike rental shop to the Carriage Rd entrance at Eagle Lake. I think a lot will depend on what shape you are in; there are a number of hills you'll have to negotiate :(. Go here for information on biking in ANP.
