Traveler27 Posted August 28, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 28, 2017 A few questions - trying to decide if I want to book one. - positives or negatives on these cabins last Alaska 2017cruise of the season. - positive or negatives in general - is veranda and cabin same size as the majority of the other verandas rooms - are they fully covered - anything special about these cabins that would be worth the cost? Thanks!
Rare Scrapnana Posted August 28, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2017 (edited) Unless you want to be close to the spa, there are not many benefits to the spa cabins that make them worth too much extra. This is from the HAL website: Cabin Amenities: All Holland America cabins feature Elemis toiletries, but spa cabins also come with a loofah mitt and bath salts, along with an organic robe and slippers, yoga mats, two pedometers, a countertop water feature for a relaxed ambience and an iPod docking station. ETA: Just took a look at the price difference. The VQ cabins are up to $500 more per person than other verandah cabins. Personally, I would book a regular verandah and take some nice excursions in Alaska. Edited August 28, 2017 by Scrapnana
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 28, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 28, 2017 If I remember correctly, these cabins have tiny balconies. Do agree -- not worth the extra dollars.
Nieuwuser Posted August 28, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 28, 2017 On my very first Cruise in 2008 I booked a V Guarantee and ended up with VQ10009 as a free upgrade. The balcony is smaller than others but has a terrific view.I would take one again but not sure I would pay extra.

djhsolara Posted August 29, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 29, 2017 We were in one of these once that we got via a guarantee. They have a few "spa" amenities, but nothing of note to make it worth any extra cost for us. Unlike spa staterooms on some other lines, these staterooms are called spa because of their location near the spa. There are no free passes to the thalassotherapy pool, thermal suite, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
