TMW67 Posted September 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2014 I will be going the first part of October to Little Stirrup Cay for the first time. I've heard there are a lot of jelly fish there. Is this a problem anytime of the year or just certain times? Can someone post a picture of what they look like (the kind that would be there) so I know what to look out for. Thanks! PC Cruisin Posted September 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 27, 2014 This is a concern for me, too. I have been to this island in the past (April 2013) and didn't see any jelly fish in the water. I will be going back in January and hope it wont be a problem
motleyfan Posted September 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 27, 2014 I went in 2011 and didn't see any. I'm going back next year. Hopefully it won't be a problem.
marshhawk Posted September 28, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 28, 2014 I have read that jelly fish are more prominent around the full moon. Have no idea why, maybe they like the extra light at night. I dont think it has to do with seasons, or months. I could be wrong, but you may want to google jelly fish info.:)
cruiseapril Posted September 28, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 28, 2014 (edited) If googling "Jellyfish at Little Stirrup Cay" doesn't give you enough info, try asking on the Private Island forum about Coco Cay (Little Stirrup Cay) and jellyfish. Sojourner2 Posted October 18, 2014 #7 Share Posted October 18, 2014 I was there two weeks ago. I only saw a couple of moon jelly fish once while snorkeling in the main snorkel area. Those are harmless.
