smeeville, welcome

you certainly should enjoy Queen Victoria especially the Commodore Club views as you sail along the Fjords.

Cunard is really not that "high Class" as you put it, just lots of passengers enjoying themselves.

QV does have a little bit more restrictive area, compared to QM2 if you are not travelling in the Grills. But you really will not notice it.

Look in the Daily Programme and usually at around 9.30 each morning there is a Singles and solo meeting point, mentioned if you wish to socialise with similar.

May I suggest when in Bergen go to the funicular railway to Mount Fløyen , It is usually within easy walking distancefrom the port. Provided you are happy walking, you can always stroll back down.

The Flam railway is also exceptional for scenery, I would book this either via Cunard or take the risk and book online direct. Do not leave it to the day as the train is usually fully booked.

Make sure you sit at a table for 6 or 8 at dinner, as this is the best way to start making friends on board.

Also if you like a cocktail before dinner then I would suggest sitting at the bar - there are generally people around you that you can chat to, but if that fails the barman is usually great fun!

Hello

All good advice. I would also recommend that for the Captain's reception in the Queens Room that you arrive early so are one of the first in line. These affairs are rather crowded and soon becomes standing room only. You want to be able to find a chair so you don't have to stand awkwardly alone. In a chair others will want to join in nearby seats you and you will make new friends. Have fun.

Having sailed solo on QM2 myself, Minz56 offered you good advice. Cunard takes care of the solos by intermingling us with couples and other solos at the larger tables. Some say 6 is good for conversation. I ask for 8 as "insurance" against a couple being a no-show.

Breakfast and lunch is open seating. If you approach the Maitre D' tell him that you "will share" and you'll be seated with others.

The program also lists a mid-morning gathering for Solo Sailors. Don't know your gender, but in the evening Cunard has Gentleman Dance Hosts. (I've heard there was a Dance Hostess at one point but have never seen one on my sailings.) They're there to not only dance with the solos but also for those whose partners don't care to dance.

You won't be alone unless you choose to be.
