We are disembarking one ship in Port Everglades and embarking another ship there the following day. At this time we have a reservation to stay overnight at the Bahia Mar since we like its location for eats, drinks and shopping. For anyone who has stayed there, could you please advise if you would rate the hotel good ;) so so :( or bad

We have stayed there several times. It is always priced well for a beach hotel. We book the partial ocean view rooms facing south. You get a great view of the beach and the coastline facing Miami. Full view are obviously good too. If you book the less costly rooms you are actually in a different 3 story building. Marina view being the better as you DO overlook the marina piers. The garden or whatever they call the bottom room, I think faces the parking lot.

For one night you will have no trouble finding places to eat within a few blocks. A very casual spot we always visit is Bahia Cabana, behind the little motel down the street right on the marina. GREAT fish sandwich and other pub type foods. DH likes to have drinks outside there while table watching the boats/yachts coming and going. Too there's the Oasis is down the street a few blocks. It's the one with the outdoor swing tables across the street from the beach. It's on a busy traffic corner. We like the other place better. You can go across the street to the Sheraton for a drink and meal too. We have walked down to the Beach Place area on nice days. Longer walk (mile or more) but a nice stroll.

Shopping is further. You can take a city bus or the sun trolley over to Harbor Shops if looking for Total Wine, drug store, grocery. Easy to do and that will get you to more choices for restaurants. The water taxi stop is just a couple blocks from the hotel too...you can see it while at the Bahia Cabana.

The hotel is fine. There is a convenience store/sandwich shop next door. The rooms, at least in the tower are average. Not luxury but ok. We haven't been in the other bldg for years, so can't comment about those.

It's a casual, moderate priced hotel. Nothing to worry about!!;) We have a couple nights booked in Jan.

Thanks for your response and description of the hotel surroundings. A couple of years ago we stayed a few nights at the nearby Westin and dined at Spazios, Casablanca Cafe and Bubba Gumps. We chose the Bahia Mar this time primarily because we got a good rate for a partial ocean view tower room and its close proximity to Beach Place. Not expecting luxury and happy to accept clean and comfortable.

Do the partial ocean view rooms have balconies? Thinking of staying here for 2 nights before cruise in May. Are there any site, which have special discounts for the rooms? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thank you;)

The hotel web page states "all partial ocean view rooms offer a step-out balcony measuring 2 feet x 6 feet" We always book directly with the hotel and are members of Hilton HHonors Rewards Program which allows us access to a special rate subject to load factors at time of booking :)

The room has a french balcony. Just a place to stand to look out. No furniture would fit.

Look at lastminutetravel. Might show up there or their LMTclub too. May will be reasonable compared to peak winter . In fact you will find nice values at other Beach Hotels too.
