Cape Verde visa?

Can anyone who has been to Cape Verde on a cruise recently tell me if a visa is necessary for a shore excursion from Porto Grande? The government information says a visa is needed to visit, but a thread from 2007 suggested that it wasn't needed for a shore excursion.

We stopped in the Cape Verde Islands last year and did not need a visa.

We did not need a Visa when we stopped there in May.

I was there in April and although the Cape Verde Consular site said UK citizens needed a visa to visit, I emailed them and they confirmed that I Di not need one just to go ashore for a few hours from a ship. I only needed one if I was going on holiday there and staying there. I had no issues getting off the ship without one.

Phew thanks😗 will tell our mates who are going for weeks holiday they must check to see if they need them
