cruising as a single

hi everyone. Thinking of doing a cruise from Barcelona on celebrity equinox next year . I realise that I need to pay double for my cabin ( YUK!!!!) but do I have to pay double for port taxes etc.

I believe you only pay one lot of taxes and gratuities.

If you're flexible with your dates (or cruise line), keep shopping. Sometimes there will be a sale where you don't have to pay double. Even on Celebrity.

I have only paid once for port taxes etc for all my solo cruises. Check with either your travel agent or the cruise line. Enjoy the cruise.

Watch for solo deals on Celebritys weekly Tuesday sale. Absolute best deals are Transatlantic with a larger than usual amount of singles.Followed, or proceeded by a European Celebrity cruise, even better.

Port taxes are per person.

I'd worry more about being on the right ship than "paying double". I just did a test booking for NCL Epic 04 Jan. It's only about $20 less per day than what I'm paying for Costa Mediterranea 02 Jan, and having been on both ships, I'll gladly pay the extra. So if you think Equinox is right for you, go for it.
