Casino perks

Hello,

We always take two Carnival cruises each year, we were booked for next month of the Dream out of NOLA, but due to medical problems, my doctor advised me not to sit longer than an hour at a time, my flight would be connecting as there are no non stop flights from northern Jax to NOLA, so each flight will be over two hours long, therefore, we had to cancel, thank goodness for Carnivals insurance which will return all the rest of the money back to us that Carnival didn't give us back.

Our last two Carnival cruises was in March and May, since we have cancelled our May cruise on this ship, does this mean when we take our next Carnival cruise in October we loose our points? We always get the drinks on us card...we assume that if you continue cruising on carnival within the years time we continue to receive the casino perks and if we don't go on our next cruise within a year, that we will loose our perks, anybody know when the points restart over?

I believe the points start over for each cruise. You will have to earn each perks for a cruise if it is not a premier or casino cruise.

Unless you are a very big whale, which in that case they may comp you the DOU card.

As stated above, Premier cruises are a different breed. There, you get comps right away upon arriving on the cruise (DOU card, free welcome party, no 3% fee for chips on acct.)

Only the points earned on your current cruise count towards most on board perks received. The exception being if you rated over 5,000 pts. in your last sailing, you should still get your DOU card (& possibly the steakhouse voucher) as soon as the casino opens on your next cruise (these are supposedly good for 2 years, but I would contact the Ocean Players Club for confirmation).

Except towards earning the discount offer and perks of the Premier and Ultra cruises points don't carry over from cruise to cruise. For the Bounce Back offer you need to reach the qualifying amount all over again each cruise. This amount varies and is usually given out to the top 10-15% point earners on each cruise.

The points are always on the very next cruise with us.....but we never went over the years time in between carnival cruises, this is our first. We have taken a premier cruise two years ago and never would do it. again, although the perks are wonderful, the casino's are much tighter, the table stakes are higher and there are much more people in the casino...as for the free room given/bounceback offer, we never taken it because we always book our 2 cruises, Aruba, and two to three other trips the year before and have no time to use the freebie.

He has over 5k points so perhaps this is why on regular non premier casino cruises he gets the drink on us card immediately hum....

He never plays tables only plays slots but he would bet $3-$7 a hit, he goes up and down, he is very very lucky but I am more lucky so when he wins he surprises me with a piece of jewelry that he purchases on the ship or when we are in Aruba in Belgravia Jewellers which is in our hotel lol....me, I never win but I don't bet anything like he does and at times I can hold myself at the roulette table but I never come back with more money like he always does...he is just lucky even at the Hard Rock Tampa, go figure.....

Thanks for the answer. I have been told that only slot players can have a dou card waiting for the them when they board the ship. I have also been told slot players who earn 5000 points on their previous sailing pre-qualify and table players have to re-earn the dou card at 1500 points on 5 days and longer cruises because "table players do not accumulate points at all". Thanks for confirming what I was told.

...as for the free room given/bounceback offer, we never taken it because we always book our 2 cruises, Aruba, and two to three other trips the year before and have no time to use the freebie.

I notice I always get tempting offers a couple months before my cruise is scheduled to debark. I always GAMBLE by not taking the offers, hoping I'll get the bounceback and so far I'm four out of four.

I do think Carnival takes their analysis a step further - I have a high-school daughter and they know I will always pay full price for a Spring Break cruise, so I never get a bounceback off the back-to-back bouncebacks from the previous summer and Christmas break. But once I pay for the Spring Break cruise, the bounceback offers are there, including back-to-back (free cruise off a free cruise) as long as I don't book ahead of time.

I feel like as long as I play $20/hand and gamble three to four hours each night, this pattern will continue and I am grateful to Carnival for this. Allows me a lot more latitude in vacation budget.
