LAX construction delay

Cross-posted this on the West Coast board too....apologies for that, but this could be important if your itinerary cuts things close between your flight and cruise:

Allow extra ground travel time if you're headed to or from LAX this weekend (Friday 7/24/14 9pm to Monday morning 7/27/14 6am).

Century Blvd. is the main entry into the LAX central terminal area; it will be closed to demolish an old bridge and start construction that will extend the light rail system into the airport.

Media is saying to add one hour to deal with the detours and congestion that will be transferred to secondary streets. Also keep in mind the delay will affect shuttle vans and hired car services too. Hope everyone has allowed enough time to/from the airport and ship to accommodate any delays.

Thanks for posting not only about this weekend but as a reminder that it's wise to have buffer in your flight times because someone booking a flight for this weekend many months ago would have had no idea about this activity.
