Seeing the mainland ruins from cozumel will be a long day, having to take the ferry to the mainland and a bus ride. The ruins on cozumel are tiny and not nearly as interesting. I've been snorkeling in grand cayman and roatan and cozumel. If you are doing a mainland tour, I would snorkel in Belize and do ruins in Mexico . If you aren't willing to go to the mainland cozumel ruins, do ruins in Belize and snorkel in cozumel

I agree. I have done Tulum from Cozumel and it was a long day for 30 minutes forced shopping in the onsite jewelry store and one hour at the ruins. I enjoyed the ruins on Cozumel because they were close but they are nothing compared to Tulum or Chickenitza (spelling!).
