kag92 Posted September 30, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2014 My daughter will turn 21 next summer. She is wanting to go to Bermuda. I am thinking of doing a cruise but only Royal and NCL cruise to Bermuda. I have not sailed either one. Which would you recommend?
Va. Plumber Posted September 30, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2014 Not sure about RCI, but NCL cruises are in Bermuda for almost three days. The five day RCI cruise from Baltimore spends less time there.
njhorseman Posted September 30, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 30, 2014 Other lines also cruise regularly to Bermuda: Celebrity from Bayonne; Holland America is returning next year with a half dozen or so cruises from Boston. A 21 year old would likely be happy on either Royal Caribbean or NCL. Of the two, NCL offers a choice of two ships...one from Boston and one from NY, while Royal Caribbean will have one from Baltimore and one from Cape Liberty (New Jersey). As already mention the NCL ships spend more time in Bermuda than the Royal Caribbean ships (the more time the better IMO). What cruise lines have you sailed with and liked? That might help in making a recommendation.
kag92 Posted October 1, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted October 1, 2014 I have cruised Carnival, Disney and Celebrity. Thanks for in info. I not need to decide which I think will best fit her needs. The long in Bermuda the better!
Travel Ranger Posted October 6, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 6, 2014 They are both incredible cruise lines. She will have the time of her life.
t_car Posted October 7, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 7, 2014 Previous posters are right. The longer in Bermuda the better. NCL stays the longest. We are leaving next week on our second NCL cruise to Bermuda. :D They will have a great time.
lifeisgoodPat Posted October 16, 2014 #7 Share Posted October 16, 2014 Carnival Sunshine is sailing on Oct.2nd 2015 on 8 day cruise out of Cape Canaveral. It will have 3 days in Bermuda. We are booked for this sailing. Very convenient for a Fl resident.
WelshieLover Posted October 18, 2014 #8 Share Posted October 18, 2014 The Celebrity Summit out of Bayonne Nj is in Bermuda for 3 nights. We took it last year and had a great trip.
NewSalt Posted October 18, 2014 #9 Share Posted October 18, 2014 The Celebrity Summit out of Bayonne Nj is in Bermuda for 3 nights. We took it last year and had a great trip. We've done the Celebrity cruise three times and love it. We sailed there as part of a longer cruise last year on RCI and missed the little touches on Celebrity, like the shaded lounge chairs and ice water at the pier. CruisermanVA Posted October 18, 2014 #10 Share Posted October 18, 2014 If she wants to spend several days in Bermuda she should fly there and back. Cruising to Bermuda will involve more days at sea than on the island - it's more about the cruise than the destination.
RSLeesburg Posted October 18, 2014 #11 Share Posted October 18, 2014 I cannot comment on total time in port because I never checked them out, but RCI will be sailing Liberty of the Seas to Bermuda next year from Bayonne (5 night cruise), and Grandeur of the Seas will be sailing to Bermuda from Baltimore for 6 night and 7 night cruises. We took 6 night cruise last year, and wished we had booked a 7 night cruise - so I would agree with others, take the longest cruise you can :). For a 21 y/o, I would normally recommend Liberty, but in this case, I think I would consider Breakaway for the longer cruise and more activities than Grandeur, HAL or Celebrity might offer.
