hello..

Considering a Summit cruise with my 20yo daughter to Bermuda in May. Will there be enough activities for my kid?

Last Celebrity cruise was me and wife on Constellation out of Fort Lauderdale.

Older crowd for sure.

Was there anything added from the drydock last year?

thanks

Dry dock was mostly to upgrade the high end suites, to change SS United States to Tuscan, and some minor cosmetic issues.

Bermuda cruises have more families, probably even more in Jun-Aug time-frame.

What kind of activities does she like?

Are you asking what activities will be on the ship or in Bermuda? There are plenty of things on both, but it all depends on the type of activities they are looking for. I would expect a slightly older crowd as someone posted above that most of the families won't be cruising until Jun-Aug.

If you are going in May, I would go later in the month, perhaps around Memorial day. Earlier in the month can at times tend to be cooler in NJ and Bermuda.

They also added the movie theater on the upper deck.

Here's a link to the press release for what was done to the Millennium. Summit was done a couple months before and had pretty much the same thing done.

We have done the last week in May for the past 2 years and the weather has been terrible. One year it was SO windy there were white caps on the water in port and you could not even walk without the wind blowing your over. I am not sure what it is about that week but to get 3 straight bad days in a row - 2 years in a row is why we are not doing that again this year.

I believe the drinking age is 18 once you get out to sea? Someone correct me if I am wrong. Activities wise for a 20 year old though, I don't think many cruise lines consider them to be "kids" anymore, so there are not organized activities.

Drinking age is 21 unless on a European Cruise, gambling age is 18, go figure.

May 8, 2016 Summit Mother's Day Cruise.

If you go Mother's Day you get a $5 a day Premium Drink Package upgrade ($70 for 2)!!!

We did Aqua 1 Deck 11 stern cabin 1140, great cruise. The water in Bermuda is very cold in May, didn't put a toe in. We have been to Bermuda many times. Use the pools on the Summit.

Shorts and Golf Shirts in May, great for us. Not to hot or cold, just no swimming (unless you're from Alaska). Didn't see any kids on this cruise, which is why we book Bermuda in May.

This is NOT correct. Cruises originating in the US require that a person be 21 to drink alcohol.

Casino is 18 UNLESS on an Alaska cruise, where a person has to be 21.

I cruise with my mom all the time. The point is my spending time with her and us doing things together. Never have I abandoned her to go off looking for entertainment on my own. There is trivia, late night comedians, the shows, the spa, the pools, dancing etc. In Bermuda, you have 3 days to come and go as you please and wander about the island.

As log as college has let out, there should also be some others her age on board.

Where did anyone say anything, or even imply about OP's daughter abandoning him to go do something else?
