Wine and Beer - Sydney

TERRIER1

Recommended Posts

Our cruise ship allows us to bring wine, beer and spirits on board for consumption in our cabin. We would love to purchase some Australia wine and take with us on the cruise. However, I read that liquor with be confiscated by the port and you cannot do this? Is this correct? Thanks.

You shouldn't have an issue with taking wine onboard if your ship allows it. The only restrictions Australia has is how much alcohol you can purchase duty free, so if you purchased over the allowed amount and took it off the ship again, customs would want you to pay the tax on it.

Other than any restriction your own cruise line might have there is no problem purchasing wine in Australia and bringing it on the ship. Our ship allows us to bring wine on board and what we usually do in many port stops in both Australia and New Zealand if time permits we would purchase a wine that represents the region or a nearby region of where we were sailing.
