Cannot speak about the need for a prescripton but there are pharmacies at the port area. Try looking for the port in a search engine. I saw the things typically sold in a CVS or Walgreens.

Yes, the pharmacies are still there. You can by diet pills, antibiotics, skin preparations, and erectile meds, all which usually need a script in the US. However, if you are looking for ambien, Valium and Ativan, they no longer carry those. Many of these can ALS be bought in the Mexican pharmacies as well.

I do not want to start the discussion about the wisdom of doing this. I am just answering a question.
