retep55555 Posted July 12, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2014 We will be in Pisco for the day on a Princess cruise. Can someone please recommend a good tour company and suggest what we should do for the day to make the most of our time. catergirl Posted July 13, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2014 this was fantastic!! you can prebook this island tour, which is called the 'poor man's Galapagos', thru companies such as mystery peru, which we did, or even go into town and get the tour off the dock, which is cheaper. it is amazing, the birds and sealions by the hundreds!! wonderful trip. or you could get a plne and fly over the Nazca lines, which we did a different day, again thru mystery peru. WOW!!!
flamomo Posted July 18, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2014 We did the ship's tour to Tambor Colorado, which is the site of Incan ruins. Excellent tour with a really good guide!! Of course, you should have an interest in visiting ancient ruins to appreciate this type of tour. LOL
Nebr.cruiser Posted August 22, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 22, 2014 We picked up a tour right on the dock with another couple that took us to the nearby town and on a Ballestros Islands tour. The guy waited for us and took us back to the ship--very reasonable and he took good care of us. I'm thinking it was about $40 for the two of us. The boat trip to the islands was one of the highlights of our cruise; lots of birds, seals (or sea lions?) and beautiful rocky formations, arches, etc. The little beach town was fun too for just relaxing with a lunch or drink and a little shopping.
