Renting a Car in Tampa-- but how to return and get to port

We've always flown in a day early.... But this time we are flying in 2 days early and plan to rent a car to do a little exploring.

If we rent from the airport locations, what is our best bet to then getting to the port?

Should we all (3 adults and 1 child) go back to the airport to return the car? Will a taxi be cheaper if only 1 of us goes back to drop off the car?

Not as much worried about expense as I am trying to avoid a pain in the butt situation.

Taxi is a flat rate fare and having one or three in the cab makes no difference.

There is a Hertz location inside the Marriott about 2 blocks from the port that may be an option for you. Good luck! :)

Thrifty and one other car rental agency offer free transportation to port after you return your car. You can also get that shuttle to return to airport after cruise. Just ask driver where they will be after cruise for pickup.
