michelle028 Posted July 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2014 Quick q - what is the fastest way to get from the pier (where Carnival docks) to the shopping district in old san juan? Is it within walking distance? Looking for cheap clothing/shoes etc.
dcikon2 Posted July 4, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 4, 2014 You will be around 2-3 blocks away from stores. There will be souvenir stores closer. There are 2 main shopping streets in OSJ.
sail7seas Posted July 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 4, 2014 The ship docks right in the center of downtown Old San Juan. Come out of the terminal and cross the street and you can start at Ralph Lauren's new (a few years) Polo store and move along from there. Keep going up the hills and will come to many stores. Lots are trinkets and souvenirs, plenty of jewelry stores, Coach, Dooney & Bourke......... Have fun.
Ms411 Posted July 4, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 4, 2014 The CVS store is across the street from the cruise terminal and has some t shirts and beach clothing last time I was there. If you're looking for clothes for your cruise or for summer events at home, head to the Marshall's store. Usually lots of good clothing bargains. Just walk around Old San Juan and buy what suits your fancy! Lots of souvenir stores, too, but can't remember name of the one I'm picturing in my mind. jerrib Posted July 21, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 21, 2014 As you specified "cheap clothing/shoes", I'm thinking you mean something like Marshall's - it is located at 154 Calle Rafael Cordero (on Plaza de Armas) – tram stop #
davy jones Posted July 25, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 25, 2014 Is there anything to be gained from shopping at Marshalls in SJ vs. home?
jerrib Posted July 28, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 28, 2014 Is there anything to be gained from shopping at Marshalls in SJ vs. home? Have never been there so can't answer directly. However I've read many cruisers shop there for forgotten items etc.
