Cruiseline Shuttle

Hi...

Does anyone know how long in advance you have to sign up for the shuttle with Royal Caribbean? Can it be done a few days in advance, or, if someone has dropped you off at the pier, can you sign up for the shuttle on the cruise for your trip back to the airport? We are planning on flying into IAH a day early, but staying near Hobby (much more expensive for us to fly into Hobby), we'll be renting a car for the extra time that we're there ahead of time. It's possible a friend will meet us there in Houston and take us to the pier...but, then we'll need to get back to IAH after the cruise, so we'd only need the shuttle one way. OR, we might want the shuttle to the cruise from Hobby, but then back to IAH. So many possibilites...ha. Any info is good info...

Thanks!

Usually a shuttle from ship to airport can be purchased at front desk while on ship.

We used the Royal Caribbean shuttle to get from port to IAH this past weekend. Just to lock in spots, we booked the transfers by telephone before the cruise, but the transfers were offered during the cruise. Theoretically, they could sell out the buses, so if you know you want the tranfers you probably should go to guest services sooner rather than later in the cruise.

Did you have to wait a long time for the bus to fill before heading to the port?

We made a point to get off the ship as quickly as possible to get the first iah bus out, so we did not wait long. All transfers were supposed to get luggage tags 3 or 4, scheduled for 8:45 am. I believe our bus left at 9:15am.

I took the ship's transfer back to the Navigator after dropping off a rental car at Hobby on Nov.11th and the bus's departure was held up for 1 1/2 hours waiting for two late arriving passengers whose flight had been delayed. The bus wasn't anywhere close to being full but we were kept waiting for these two passengers, who never did show up even after the flight they were suppose to be on arrived. It wasn't a big deal for me as we were on B2B2B cruises so I would have plenty of time onboard and it gave me time to use Hobby's free internet service but for others wanting to start their cruise ASAP this might have been a pain.
