Tampa Hotel with nice pool area.

I will be cruising out of Tampa, and my flight home doesn't leave until the early evening. I'm looking for a hotel with either a day rate or if I had to pay the full price for the day as long as I would be able to check in early, and it was moderate in price. ($150 or less) I would have about 5 hours before I would have to leave for the airport. It would be worth it to me if I could spend a couple of hours at a nice pool, have lunch, shower and then head to the airport. I really don't want to hang around the airport all day.

I just booked this pre-cruise in January, located right across from Port. In your price range and you do get free mgrs reception (free drinks), starting around 5pm, though check with the hotel for the exact time.

This will be a helpful link. Seminole hardrock has huts for a bit more than Embassy suites, but way less than their rooms!

www.between9and5.com is one source for hotels offering day rates.

A lot depends upon availability; my guess is that airport area hotels (look for TPA or Westshore) will be used to these types of requests.

You also should check out hotels in the Rocky Point area - most offer packages with both airport and port shuttles; even if they do not have rooms for a fee or tip they might be willing to watch your bags while you enjoy their pool and restaurants.

The aquarium near the port will store your luggage for a fee if you want to tour, shop in the area, and maybe get lunch before heading to TPA. Good luck! :)

Holiday Inn Rocky Point. Shuttle from the port. Hotel with pool that overlooks the Bay. Shuttle back to the airport, which is 5 min away.
Not sure about early check-in, you may have to call the hotel and ask or arrange a night before stay with a late check-out.

Good luck to you.
