CP3o Posted January 24, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2013 We have a late port day, 2-11pm, may book a 3-6pm tour (anything besides Irie for this?) but what to do after? Kids are pre-teen/teen so we don't need to rush back to the ship for bedtime but aren't interested in a romantic sunset cruise either. Any recommendations? Do the shops close early such that walking around the port there isn't much to do besides go to a restaurant or bar after 6? Thank you.
WendyVF Posted January 24, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2013 I'm interested also. We were there during the day last year and did the Irie tour and had a great time...so great that we didn't get to see any of the downtown shops and such. I'd really like to do that this time but would like go to a beach also if the timing will work. We're looking at a sunset cruise but DD (17) isn't thrilled about it! Rare crewsweeper Posted January 24, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 24, 2013 If you're at the Mega Pier, it's a walk to the Fort Riff shopping area--I think most shops close early there too, as do the kiosk vendors along the waterfront. the shopping tent at the pier does stay open. There are a couple of restaurants on the upper level there. If you head on toward the pedestrian swing bridge, there's a couple of restaurants around the square and then there's Iguana's across in Willemstad. All these are close to the smaller pier. But outside the casinos, there's not a lot of other evening attractions, especially for pre-teens and teens.
