What happens to suitcases if you take ships transfer and Rome excursion?

Our flight leaves Rome at 8.15pm after our cruise.

Rather than waste the day sitting in the airport, we thought we might take the ships Rome excursion which includes the transfer to the airport in the afternoon.

What happens to our suitcases on that day?

Are they taken to the airport along with everybody elses?

Or do they come with us on the excursion tour coach?

Not really sure why, but the thought of not knowing where my suitcase will be all day worries me :o.

Thank you, I was hoping it would, I am going to book the excursion and make the most of the last day of my holiday .
