Maplemoose Posted April 29, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2007 Seeing as time will be of the essence in SF we are thinking of using taxis to go a couple of places. Has anybody travelled from Pier 35 cruise terminal to Alamo Square/Haight Ashbury area. What about from Lombard St to the same area? Any idea of taxi fare, just ballpark figure? Thanks. sultan_sfo Posted May 1, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2007 Just guestimates: Lombard St. is close by -- around $10. Haight Ashbury: At least $25. It is not clear how many of you are there together and how much time is available. If there are only 2 of you, a good approach for Haight/Ashbury is to take the F-line street car across from the cruise terminal at the center island of the road. One comes along every 10 min. Each pax needs exact change of $1.50 (1$bill + 2 quarters or 6 quarters). Stay on the street car and enjoy the ride of about 40 min and get off at the "end" of the line. That will be 17th St. and Castro -- an interesting neighborhood on its own. From there take a cab to Haight/Ashbury via Alamo Square -- around $12. Do reverse to get back to Pier 35. I don't know much about car rentals -- but driving in SF is confusing with many one-ways and heavy traffic. /Sultan Seeing as time will be of the essence in SF we are thinking of using taxis to go a couple of places.
