Hello

After our cruise ship docks, would guess around 9am we have a long wait until our hotel check in although I am sure we can drop off our luggage - I was thinking of a boat trip to see the Dolphins -

does any forum member have suggestions about which company to use -

A couple of hours or so with lunch would be nice but would guess the boat trips do not work like that -

Thanks for any suggestions

As always a supporter of Galveston Historical Foundation - a non profit and operates Bishops Palace and other historic homes , a Galveston Tour , Maritime Museum , Historic Elissa Tall Ship , homes tour, dickens on strand , plank owners events, Historic Films , and has a boat also with a dolphin tour at Elissa.

They also have second largest historical preservation membership in U.S. ! They need your'e support!

The other is for profit and one with hawkers and operates by Toni nonnas restaurant and harbor house hotel.

The Texas Seaport Museum is at Pier 23 next to Fisherman's Wharf.

Check out galvestonhistory.org for times the Seagull II sails from the pier.

You can also visit the Elissaa - the official tall ship of Texas.

On the corner of Willie G's, at Pier 21, upstairs is the Galveston Historical Foundation theater showing three 20 minute films of The Great Storm of 1900, Jean Lafitte, the Pirate and Immigration into Galveston.

There are also a number of restaurants at these piers; the two mentioned above plus Nonno Tony's and Olympia at Pier 21 (great views).

Enjoy!

Thank you for the advice - we are staying at the Hilton Island Resort for two nights -assume we need a taxi each time we go into town -

Also is the best plan to do a deal with a local taxi driver for our last days airport run into Houston -

Thanks

Sister hotel to yours is San Luis next door and has limo that you can probably have access to and will transport you to the port area and restaurants. And dolphin tour.

The three hotels there together are owned by same , but operated by different chains. But some services are reciprocal .

Check with yours for access. Good luck and enjoy you cruise.
