Bringing wine on board

We are going on two cruises in 3 weeks, one with Celbrity and the second with Princess.

Is it true we can bring on board two bottles of wine each time we leave a port?

If you mean every port call in your itinerary, no that is not true.

You would do best to ask specific questions about each cruise line on the forum for each.

On Princess you can bring 1 bottle of wine per person over the age of 21.

Anything you bring on board in ports will be held in the naughty room until the last night.

On both it's one bottle per adult (or two per cabin, can't remember which but for most folk that's the same thing), at your embarkation port only.

At that time, on Princess you can take aboard as many bottles of wine as you like but you will be charged 15USD corkage on each extra bottle - whether that's worthwhile depends on how much wine costs in your embarkation port. Princess' wine costs from around 28USD (incl their service charge) so break-even is around 13USD per bottle.

Some ships will take wine if its not brought on IN your carry-on. You will get it back on the last night with any other alcohol you buy. So make sure you don't pack it in your luggage, carry it on board. On cruise two weeks ago security had to actually see the bottle, maybe to make sure it was wine? (A friend had wine taken she had packed on her 1st cruise and was unhappy she didn't get it back until last night!)
