First picture is my favorite.

We have several squirrels who visit us from time to time. Yesterday was one of them.

Usually the only time the squirrels will attack the suet cakes is when they are expecting:

Having grown up in Michigan and now living in the desert in Texas squirrels are one animal I miss. We have little ground squirrels but they're pretty shy.

Beautiful

Our Christmas Cactus used to bloom at Christmas -- now it blooms in the spring and around Thanksgiving for the most part. It does have a few flowers on it right now.

I agree -- they are way more beautiful than the ones we see in the Caribbean.

These are Brown Pelicans. We have a few White Pelicans in the area, but I have not seen them.

Australian Pelicans are different!

The pelicans are the same type - brown pelicans - but the Pacific browns during breeding season will develop a rich red color to their throat patch...while the Atlantic variety during breeding season will develop a dark reddish brown color to their neck and nape, but not the pouch. When in non-breeding colors, the two will essentially look the same.

Neat shots - always love the pelicans...and I miss the seals too!

I did not know. This explains why we did not see the red throat patch until recently!
