Mewissy Posted November 16, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2016 We were just at Emerald Bay beach two days ago. The taxi costs $4/pp from Crown Bay. We got four chairs in the shade for $7/chair. The restrooms were clean. We also bought bottled water from a vendor on the beach for $2/bottle. The water and sand were beautiful. The surrounding areas left a bit to be desired. My daughter snorkeled for about an hour by rocks at the edge of the cove.

Ms411 Posted November 16, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2016 The taxis use what I call the back route to Emerald which is through the industrial Sub Base neighborhood. I think it's shorter than taking the Airport Rd route. Did your daughter see any sealife while snorkeling?

She told us that she saw different colored fish as well as a fish with a "nose" like a swordfish.
Ms411 Posted November 16, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 16, 2016 She didn't see any turtles? I remember reading a few years ago about a turtle nesting there.

She did see an octopus in St Kitts which made her week! :)

Are there a lot of shady areas on the beach or do you think you'd have to get there early in the morning to get a place in the shade? How would you get a cab back to Crown Bay? Thanks.
