Just there - Emerald Bay

We were just at Emerald Bay beach two days ago. The taxi costs $4/pp from Crown Bay. We got four chairs in the shade for $7/chair.

The restrooms were clean. We also bought bottled water from a vendor on the beach for $2/bottle.

The water and sand were beautiful. The surrounding areas left a bit to be desired. My daughter snorkeled for about an hour by rocks at the edge of the cove.

Is there food & beverages ( beer?) ??

Thanks..

The taxis use what I call the back route to Emerald which is through the industrial Sub Base neighborhood. I think it's shorter than taking the Airport Rd route.

Did your daughter see any sealife while snorkeling?

She did! It was her first time snorkeling. She told us that she saw different colored fish as well as a fish with a "nose" like a swordfish.

What time of day did you get there? Are there a lot of shady areas on the beach or do you think you'd have to get there early in the morning to get a place in the shade? How would you get a cab back to Crown Bay? Thanks.
