Can you find a tour as you get off the ship?

We aren't looking to do a planned-out excursion, necessarily, when we get to Tortola.

Can anyone tell me if we can find some sort of tour as we get off the ship?

We've done that in Nassau, St. Thomas, and San Juan.

I "imagine" we can, but if someone with experience can help a gal out, I'd appreciate it!!!

Yes, most definitely, and that's a great choice for a first visit (or follow-up) visit to Tortola. You'll see drivers waiting at the pier that provide excellent 3 -4 hr group tours at very reasonable prices (~$25pp). Some stop at a beach as well and that's a nice option.

There is a visitor center at the dock and the ladies there are very helpful and can direct you to a tour that fits you.

What about for a snorkel excursion? Any operators looking for customers at the pier?

We visited Tortola while on the NCL Getaway last October. As you come off the ship you'll notice several safari busses lined up. Speak with the taxi dispatchers and they will point you to a bus. We paid $20 per person for around 4 hours. This included 45 minutes to cool off in Cane Garden Bay Beach. There was a few stops for photo ops and lots of information given by our driver "Miss Kitty".

Only regret was that we didn't leave the ship till after 9 and it didn't leave us much time for shopping after the tour. Our bus was boxed in at Cane Garden Bay and it took quite a while to get back on the road. We asked to be dropped off in town for shopping/sightseeing and the driver dropped us near the crafters village by the pier. We walked to Sunny Caribbee for some souvenirs but didn't have enough time to walk around Main Street before "back on board" time.
