Argentina's Reciprocity Fee

Is this fee really $160 and what is the service fee of $30. I live in the Chicago Area, can I go to the conciliate and save the $30. I look forward to your replies.

We always deal with consulates directly, but this reciprocity fee needed to be paid online before our trip. Print out proof you paid and keep it with your passport. Check the consulate's website in case something has changed - again.

It has to be done on line.

And that is according to the Argentina Consulate.

We did ours on line and then an e mail followed which we printed.

This is one way to do it. Not sure if they charge the fee.

We purchased ours using a link on the American Airlines website, and did not pay a $30.00 processing fee -- just the $160.00 reciprocity fee amount.

The processing fees are charged by third party sites (not all charge) and are completely unnecessary. You can pay directly at the Argentine site, they have an English webpage at the above link, but the full fee is $160 for US citizens as that is what the US charges them for a visa.
