Which (witch) ever one suits your needs best. People use both airports. I used Houston, my friend used Hobby.

Salem Airport.....

You have two airports both which are not in Galveston. Houston International north of Houston and then you have Hobby Airport to the SE of Houston. Hobby is closer to the port.

Hobby (HOU) is 45 minutes from Galveston.

Bush (IAH) is 80 minutes from Galveston.

Unless you are using frequent flier miles or have access to a rock-bottom rate on a major carrier you are best off flying Southwest into HOU from either BWI or PHL which ever is closest to you. Southwest still allows two checked bags with the cost of the airfare.

For my Galveston cruise last March I used Hobby airport, about 40 minute drive to port if there's no traffic.

I didn't see any witches there though, except myself of course....:D

OK. Seriously. I suggest Hobby. It's WAY closer to Galveston than IAH. The problem is that only certain airlines fly there. Southwest maybe?

Southwest, Jet Blue, AirTran, American Eagle, and Delta are the airlines that offer flights into Hobby (HOU).
