Rent a car or Shared Shuttle from POM to FLL

Which would you choose and why?

We are a party of 3 so at least 3 large bags and then one carry on each.

The Ship gets into POM on 4/8 which is the Sunday after the long Easter break so I am expecting lots of people.

Right now renting a car is about $12 cheaper than the shuttle, but I don't know how much hassle it is to to a rental from POM. I know they shuttle you back to MIA airport. I just don't know which way is best? Having never done either.

Full shuttles but can leave when I get off the boat or rent a car and have to get shuttled. Our Flight leaves FLL at 1:30pm

You might be able to squeeze into an Uberx - fare should be about $35 from POM to FLL. UberXL will be closer to $65-70 - about the same as a mini-van taxi.

Otherwise I would use a shared shuttle for about $45 -- IMHO too much hassle to shuttle out to MIA just to rent a car for a 45 minute drive to FLL.

I'd go with the shuttle. I would not want the hassle of picking up and dropping off the rental car with a 1pm flight.

Uber or shuttle. Renting a car adds too much time.
