check out red october (redoctober.com i think, or google it). you can get a private car and driver, make your own itinerary and the cost will probably not be more than all the ships tours you would need to take to cover the same sights. also you do not need an individual visa if you tour with them.

"Does anyone know the approximate cost of ships tours in St. Peterburg?"

I'm also wondering the same thing. I know that there's been a lot of discussion about Red October and Denrus, but I think I'd rather do the ship's tours. (I'm one of those strange people who actually prefers touring with a large group instead of having to have a personal relationship with my guide!) I also like not having to worry about getting back to the ship on time. So...has anyone taken reading this taken the easy option and booked Radisson tours?

If it is of help,we were in St.Petersburg with Seabourn last August, and their prices ranged from $45 to $145 for a half day excursion, and for a full day, including lunch, from $139 to $199.

One should not miss the Peterhof, and Catherine's palaces.

Be warned that the Hermitage, while facinating, tends to be extremely crowded.
