London to Southampton transportation

Central London or Heathrow or Gatwick airports?

And a preference for public transport (it's pretty good & inexpensive) or private transfer? It's about 65 miles.

Quote your ship & we'll also advise on local transport to the pier.

And your day/date of travel. It makes a difference esp. sundays & public holidays.

Looking for advise on options from London to Southampton on Mon.Oct. 26 for 2.

Hi, J & J,

Same question as my first post on this thread - from central London, or from Heathrow airport, or from Gatwick airport?

Advice for those three will be totally different.

And big cost differences between public transport (vaguely £30 to £80 for two), tour-transfers (around £120 for two), and private transfers (vaguely £90 to £140 for two).

I'm off to your side of the Pond tomorrow at daft o'clock in the morning, so you're unlikely to get a reply from me for a month!! But hopefully others can advise. On that score you'd do better to repeat your question (with that missing detail) on the more widely read Britain forum http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=233

But browse it first cos the answers are already in there somewhere. ;)

JB :)
