Connection time at MSP

Delta has changed my Vancouver-MSP-DAY flights in May and I now have a 52 minute connection time between the scheduled arrival from Vancouver, B.C. and my flight to DAY. Both flights are on Delta Connection planes. I am thinking that the flights are likely to arrive and depart from the same area of the MSP airport and that the 52 minute connection time should be OK.

Any comments about my thinking?

Most of the "Connection" flights do operate from the A and B concourses, which are together at one end of the airport. I can't be sure that your flights will be there, but if so, that's one of the easier connects at MSP. Also, if you are on a CRJ, you don't have a long process to disembark the aircraft.

One delay might be if you have to do the jetway dropoff of a larger carryon/roller. That could slow you down waiting for that to be delivered to the jetway. I'd be taking aboard nothing bigger than a briefcase for under the seat.

52 minutes is plenty of time to connect in MSP. Since you are departing Vancouver (YVR) your flight should be pre-cleared through customs so you won't have to deal with that in MSP. Chances are you will arrive into the A, B, or C Concourse in MSP and you connecting flight will also depart out of one of those concourses are well. Even if you had to walk from the beginning of the C concourse to the end of B, it is only about a 7 to 8 minute walk. The C concourse also has a tram the runs up and down the length of it to help speed things up.
