Substituting a passenger

Help! We are due to leave home in 10 days for our cruise, and my DH just received some medical news that may not allow him to travel due to a pre-existing condition. Our trip cancellation insurance will not cover him should he not be able to travel. Does anyone have experience with substituting another passenger? I'd rather take a family member than lose the entire fare.

You can change 1 name up until like 4 days prior to sailing (or whatever the cutoff is when they send manifests to the ship). 1 of the names on the original reservation must remain the same.

Call ASAP and it will be handled.

Yes, we have done that and it was very easy. Just call Celebrity, or if using a TA, call your TA.

If you have age-related trip insurance, it may make a difference in your insurance cost, but if you have the travel insurance through Celebrity, the price won't change.
