haircut4u Posted August 24, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2015 When I travelled on Pacific Pearl on her "maiden" cruise the dining arrangements were atrocious! As there was only one Dining Room (there was Salt and the Buffet) with the two Sittings, one had to either book a table, each afternoon, for the evening meal, or "speak" with the Maitre d'Hotel who assured you that the same table would be available each evening. NOT a pleasant arrangement. As I am contemplating another cruise on her (only because of the ports of call) has anything from the above changed? Haoie Posted August 25, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2015 I found it quite annoying as well at first, since my earlier cruises were fixed. But by the end of the cruise I got used to it - I was travelling alone so I mostly just turned up without reservations - never had to wait more than 5m. It was interesting sitting at a new table each time. I'd still go with fixed if it were an option, but that's not happening on the PP is it? Well if they took walk-ups that's different, from the OP I took it to be reservations were a MUST.
haircut4u Posted August 25, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted August 25, 2015 As I also travel solo I guess that is the best way to get around it - just show up. Thanks
Haoie Posted August 25, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 25, 2015 Yup the Waterfront takes walkups - never had to wait too long - but I was only 1 guy. If you're in a big party, a reservation is a must I'd assume.
MISHELL1968 Posted August 26, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 26, 2015 Travelling solo on the PP in October, guess i'll just show up for dinner at any old time and go with the flow then!
haircut4u Posted August 27, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted August 27, 2015 Having read a couple of reviews i[ appears dining arrangements have improved vastly. Will consider travelling on PP again.
